REAL BRIDE BLOG: GEORGIA

Firm in her desire to wear Danielle Frankel on her wedding day, Georgia reached out to Bloom. As soon as she saw the fabric, understood the silhouettes and realised how much they honoured her minimal style, it was locked in. But which ones would she choose… Read on to find out more!

THE PROPOSAL:

Travelling Europe with friends, Georgia and Mitch found themselves in Rome by themselves. After almost eight years together, Mitch proposed with an emerald engagement ring. Despite obviously being a stunning stone, emeralds are special in Georgia’s family as her mum exclusively wears the stone plus it’s also Mitch’s birthstone!

Knowing Georgia’s preference for unique pieces rather than a traditional diamond, Mitch absolutely nailed it by blending family traditions with her personal style.

THE CEREMONY VIBES:

Very quickly, Georgia and Mitch decided on splitting their wedding across two days. Torn between wanting to have both a small family affair and a celebration with their friends, they worked with their wedding planner to make both options happen just as they envisioned!

Their ceremony day was an intimate church ceremony at Abbotsford Convent followed by a family dinner at Cumulus. Initially hesitant about a church ceremony, Georgia honoured her nan’s wishes and ended up being so excited about the traditional aspect to their ceremony.

THE RECEPTION VIBES:

Staying overnight at Melbourne Place, their reception the following day had 128 of their guests meet at the State Library Victoria to kick off the party portion of their wedding! Transforming their venue into a candlelit dining hall decked out with one long table to seat all of their favourite people. Dinner was designed around telling the couples’ love story - each course began with an envelope explaining the symbolism between the plate and their relationship.

With no dancefloor set at the library, the party moved to Mr Mills to continue the festivities! With a change of location, an outfit change was absolutely necessary too. After finding a one-of-one, straight from the runway, Milla Nova set that fit perfectly, it was an easy choice to end her day in this look.

THE SEARCH:

The search was short! Georgia was set on Danielle Frankel as soon as she discovered them online. One appointment at Bloom was all it took to cement that Danielle Frankel was 100% the designer she’d wear on her wedding day!

THE GOWNS:

Opting for two Danielle Frankel looks - each matched to fit the vibe of her both of wedding days.

For the church ceremony, Hazel was an easy choice. Asymmetrical, sleek and elegant and paired perfectly with a cathedral length lace trim veil. Then for the reception, Bex. Unique, playful but modern and paired perfectly with emerald jewellery supplied by Anton Jewellery.

WE’RE STOKED WE… trusted their gut feeling and split their wedding day up! It ended up being the best of both worlds being able to have such an intimate feel and soak up their ceremony with their families but then having the time the next day to celebrate with their wider friend group.

Georgia said halfway through their reception at the State Library, Mitch turned to her and said “I’m so happy we did this” and that’s all she wanted!
