NYBFW + BBFW S/S ‘26 UPCOMING TRENDS
Yeah, so April was a crazy month.
Sam kicked it off in New York for another round of NYBFW before jetting home for less than a week to scoop me up (passenger princess vibes) and head to Europe! Barcelona, London, Paris… we did it real right.
Across the month we saw many gowns, watched quite a few runway shows and met a handful of new designers… some that you’ll be introduced to verrrrry soon.
Bold lace
I’ve said it before, and I’ll continue to say it 463728 more times. Lace is back, baby! We’ve cautiously dipped our toes in for the last few seasons but be prepared to see a lot more lacy numbers in the Bloom studio this season.
The lace we saw ranged from lingerie inspired through the Vivienne Westwood and Yolancris runway shows to a touch of glam in New York with the Varca collection. I personally love to leave my lace pieces sheer, but if that isn’t your vibe then we’ve got plenty of options to cover you up.
A splash of sparkle
I still can’t quite get around an entirely beaded gown as a minimal type of girly but just a little somethin’ somethin’ will always catch my eye.
Varca went full maximalist with their sheer, lace, corseted (all the best words!) Luna gown which is available with or without the most beautiful hand made floral glass bead appliqués, created by designer Sarah Varca.
Vivienne Westwood also debuted the most gorgeous golden gown paired with a wonderfully tailored blue blazer. That’s definitely my kind of late night reception party kinda vibe.
Separates
Separates are the greatest. I said it. So I’m loving that everyone keeps leaning in to the separates vibe.
Just because there’s two separate pieces doesn’t mean it isn’t just as impactful! Varca showed us the way with their Lyon combo - look at the beautiful full skirt!
Then jumping back into a beautiful sheer lace, we loved the combo of the Veda bodice and the Dylan skirt from Danielle Frankel. I do feel like I’m repeating myself when I say yet again, I love suiting. Vivienne Westwood have dropped the most beautiful bridal suit which is making me want to get married all over again. We’re vibing the combo of the Bonny suit jacket and the Bonny trouser with the Vixen corset.
2026 collection pieces will start trickling into the studio in September and we are tracking to have everything on our lists by Christmas. Make sure you’re on our mailing list - chances are if you’ve made it this far you’re already on it - but that’s where we’ll announce new arrivals and first access to trunk show appointments. We have DF, VW and Varca lined up to show you all their beautiful new pieces in the next six months so stay tuned!
I’ve dropped a couple of sneak peeks in this blog but I’ve also dropped all our thoughts, the feelings and our personal experience at the Vivienne Westwood bridal debut runway show at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week over here on the Journal. Truly a career high for both Sam and I and we can’t wait to add many of these pieces to our permanent collection very soon!
