THE BLOOM GIRLS’ GUIDE TO BRISBANE
Since so many of our brides seem to be travelling to see us these days (thank you, love you!), we wanted to give you all some of our local recs to make your Brisbane trip a tiny bit more amaze. Luckily for you, the three of us know as much about Brisbane as we do about beautiful wedding gowns!
We’ve limited these options to around the Newstead / Teneriffe / Fortitude Valley / Bris CBD area (aka nice and close to the Bloom studio). Staying outside of the Newstead bubble? We still have plenty of recs up our sleeves - don’t hesitate to ask!

HOTELS
The Calile: well, duh. Named the best hotel in Oceania and the 25th best in the world in 2024, nestled in the heart of the James St shopping precinct and only a five minute walk from Bloom. It just makes sense.
FV by Peppers: if you’re feeling bougie, book their penthouse!
Ovolo The Valley: take full advantage of the complimentary lolly bar in the foyer.
The Constance: little bit artsy, very comfy.
COFFEE + JUICE SPOTS
Salt: just across the road from Bloom and always a fail safe.
Fraser’s: the toasties are top tier too!
Bubble Boy: think Erewhon but Brisbane. For those of us that don’t do that whole coffee thing…
Sippy Tom’s: the perfect ending to your hot girl river walk.
Evra: it’s a bit of everything - cafe, restaurant, take away plus a grocery store!
FOOD
Same Same / Bianca / Hellenika: all very very different vibes but basically in the same spot around the Calile. Promise you can’t go wrong with any of them.
Bosco: the flambedou oysters are an absolute must.
Gerard’s Bistro: an absolute must do! Don’t forget to visit Gerry’s Bar before / after your meal!
The 203: easily the best steak in Bris.
Central: the coolest underground Hong Kong inspired restaurant!
Monal: please please please try their beef tartare.
Honto: 100% start with a black matcha margarita.
BOS: the food is amaze but the river views really make it worth the visit!
Exhibition: a bit of an investment dinner (and definitely plan to spend quite a few hours here) but so so worth it.
Rogue: with rotating dego menus and dietary options for everyone, this one is an easy win!
Agnes: all wood fired, all delicious.
Supernormal: same as the Melbs Supernormal but with that stun Bris River view!
Mosconi: the cutest little Italian spot just off James Street.
Essa: the Somm. is an absolute legend and the food is even better. Definitely hit up either the Wednesday Five Plates or Sunday School lunch.
BEVS
Niky: again, just across the street from Bloom and an absolute fail safe.
Winnifreds: a new addition to the Newstead scene and a huge hit for the champagne lovers!
Ruby, My Dear: Japanese snacks and wine, a wonderful combo.
Range Brewery: in case you’ve bought the boys along for the trip!
The Nixon Room: makes you feel like you’re not in Brisbane anymore.
Cru Bar: after a day of perusing James St, you’ll definitely need a cheeky wine.
Wineology: a personal fave; there’s over 100 wines to taste, you pour them yourself and honestly it’s just wildly fun.
Los Bar: a perf start to your night at Same Same or Bianca. Try the Jungle Quetzel if you like a spicy beverage!
