REAL BRIDE BLOG: NATARSHA

I love when people’s stories start in high school! Our bride Natarsha and husband Henry met at 16 and slowly grew their relationship from best friends to partners. A decade later, they got engaged at one of Natarsha’s favourite Italian islands Ponza, overlooking the water. From the beginning, they knew they wanted a wedding that felt timeless, intimate and true to them. Read on to find out how they pulled it together!

THE VENUE:

They found their venue quickly at Mona Farm, where the lush gardens and peaceful surroundings created the perfect setting for their day. Despite torrential rain in the lead-up (and some on the day!), the weather cleared just in time for an outdoor ceremony, making the surroundings feel even more magical.

THE GOWN:

Natarsha said she had always imagined herself in a simple slip dress, but everything quickly changed when she discovered Vivienne Westwood's Victoria gown. A gown inspired by the house’s archival Cloud gown as well as inspired by the wedding dress that Carrie Bradshaw wore in the Sex and the City film, as well as in And Just Like That…! When she found herself in LA for work, she went hunting for the gown and managed to snag an appointment at the Vivienne Westwood boutique.

Knowing it was the one as soon as she tried it on, she returned home and immediately began to sought out an Australian Westwood stockist which is, of course, exactly when she found us! Luckily for her, we were on our way to Sydney in the next few months for one of our Vivienne Westwood pop-up’s and Natarsha stayed in constant contact with us to make sure she locked in her pop-up appointment as soon as she possibly could!

Trying the gown back on with Sam and I in Sydney just further cemented how much she loved the gown. There was just one issue… the high-low hem! With the signature Westwood diamond pattern-cutting technique through the skirt of the gown, it wasn’t an option to lengthen the skirt to the floor so Natarsha worked with us and the Vivienne Westwood team to source extra fabric and then with our Sydney partner tailor, Tamara of Tailored by Tamara, to create a full length piece underneath the gown that would be able to bustle to allow for the gown to be worn both full-length as well as high-low as originally intended!

Pairing her look with a cathedral length veil, a gorgeous tulle Aquazurra heel and minimal jewellery which included everyday pieces gifted from Henry over their ten years together, Natarsha pulled her look together with an effortless ease that matched the vibe of their day.

THE DAY:

The celebration reflected the couple's love of entertaining, with candlelit tables, sculptural white florals and thoughtful personal touches throughout. Relaxed, stylish and filled with all the joy, Natarsha and Henry's wedding was the perfect reminder that the best celebrations are the ones that feel completely like you!
