Looking for styling tips? Highlights from our Bridal Styling & Trends Showcase

VENDORS

Trying to visualise your complete bridal look with accessory choices, hair and makeup is hard - we feel you! With so much inspiration out there and countless of hours perfecting your Pinterest boards - (plural because we know there's more than one) - how can you rest assured it will all come together like you envisioned? We joined Christie Millinery and Alarna Taylor from The Future Mrs for a private bridal styling event to showcase some of our favourite head-to-toe looks for this season.

With champagne and the intimate setting of our Newstead Showroom, (adorned with beautiful flower arrangements from the one and only Mrs Gibbons Flowers), it was a perfect evening to discuss the latest bridal fashion, millinery and hair and make-up trends combined.

It’s no secret we're a huge advocate for #slowfashion #femaleownedsmallbusinesses and unconventional bridal pieces, so teaming up with Christie was a no-brainer. And what better way to show off her premiere bridal collection than by showing it paired back with some of our newest gowns?

Think fun Harriette Gordon minis with femme bows or bold headbands with relaxed silhouettes by BonBride.

No mater what you're vibing - bold and sophisticated, classic or ultra femme - Christie's pieces can elevate your look or just add the finish touches you're looking for. And we didn't stop there, one of Brisbane's most sought after hair and makeup artists, Alarna Taylor, showed us how to complete the looks with her stunning hair and make-up transitions.

The bottom line: Don’t be afraid to step away from traditional expectations and embrace your individual style. It was fun to ditch the traditional veil for modern touches, without losing that quintessential bridal essence.

Look #1: Our gorgeous model Elle from Chic Brisbane wore BonBride BB:05, a relaxed, off-the-shoulder, backless gown. This dress carefree glam, and we paired it with Christie's Olivia headband.

We love the juxtaposition of such an effortless dress with the bold, statement headpiece. Alarna perfectly paired this bold outfit with glowy, natural make-up using blush tones and relaxed waves.

Look #2: Harriette Gordon 2.2 Silk Organza Mini- yes THAT mini that I know you've seen come up on your Instagram feed (and if you haven't, check Ivory Tribe's feature on it for some more amazing #shortbridaldress inspo).

The playfulness of the mini dress pairs beautifully with the sophisticated Willow Bow: a soft silk organza bow that fits easily into your hair with a clip. Alarna did a slightly darker glow on Elle and pulled her hair up into a glam ponytail to showcase the headpiece and the high neckline of the dress

Look #3: A new favourite in the studio, the Olsen Gown from Philadelphia designer, The Law. We're proud to the the exclusive Australian stockist for The Law, and one of their stand out pieces is this silk-crepe slim gown with a printed silk organza, off-the-shoulder, long-sleeve inner bodice.

Because the printed organza is such a feature on this dress, we paired it with a hair-up look & adorned the messy bun with Christie's Ava hairpins. They finish off the look without taking away from the statement dress, and Alarna intensified Elle's makeup with a smoky eye and a bold fuchsia lip.
